Circular DGTL Festival 2017

Circular DGTL Festival 2017

Metabolic is helping DGTL festival to become waste-free, and creating tools other festivals can adopt to move to circularity. A festival is essentially a temporary mini-ecosystem. With a fence bordering the festival, the boundaries for a material flow analysis are clearly defined, making festivals the ideal place to experiment, improve, and scale-up circular initiatives. The first step is to become aware of the amount and types of materials that are used and consumed during the festival. What materials end up as waste and how is this waste processed?

Here, we measured the material in- and outputs during the 2017 edition of DGTL Festival. The outcomes allow DGTL to identify current hotspots and future circular economy opportunities. Read the full report here.
