Kicking off my PhD research
Under the supervision of Dr. Francesco Pilla (University College Dublin) and Dr. Marcus Collier (Trinity College Dublin), my doctoral research will focus on mapping the life-cycle impacts and effectiveness of various nature-based solutions and their place in the circular cities of the future.
My PhD falls under the EU Horizon 2020 project: Connecting (COproductioN with NaturE for City Transitioning, INnovation and Governance) Nature, which is led by the School of Natural Sciences at Trinity College Dublin. The project works to scale-up NbS across 11 European cities, measure the impact of these initiatives, and co-create innovation within cities. The topic will build on the work I've done at Metabolic by layering evidence-based ecological interventions into our urban metabolism and circularity scans.
If you are working in the field of nature-based solutions or circular cities, and/or have opinions on this subject, I would love to hear from you and potentially interview you. Please contact me and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
